Microsoft Word Hangs

If Microsoft Word 2003 (or 2007) hangs even after applying Windows Update, Windows Update for Office, changing out Normal.dot… it might be that the default printer is a networked printer that is not available. Change the default printer in the control panel to a non-networked, local printer (even if it’s a PDF file printer).
